Essential connections between wireless sensors and your climate computer

Wireless sensors are quickly becoming an essential piece of equipment for greenhouse growers. It’s not hard to understand why: Growers are always looking to gain more insight into the climate in the greenhouse and the status of their crops. Ridder is supporting the growing use of wireless sensors by launching Ridder loT: an intelligent, flexible module that relays wireless readings back to the climate computer in real-time.

Real time readings
With Ridder loT, growers can maximize the potential that wireless sensors have to offer. Because the sensor readings are displayed on the computer in real time, growers are able to respond to the changing conditions in greenhouse even more quickly and effectively. The sensor readings can also be shown in graphs, and it is even possible to trigger alarms and influence the control behaviour of the computer based on the data.

Influence climate control
Joost Veenman, product manager for Process Automation at Ridder, says that more and more growers are working with wireless sensors. “Growers frequently ask us whether it is possible to simply relay the data from their wireless sensors to the climate computer directly, rather than using an external portal from the sensor supplier. Many growers also want to use the readings from the wireless sensors to influence the control output of the climate computer. Ridder IoT fill those needs in a very flexible way.”

Support
Ridder loT facilities the connection between Ridder Synopta and sensors from 2Grow, 30mhz, Aranet, EMS (Gas Analyser), Wireless Value, Grodan (Growsense). It can be connected to sensors from other suppliers on request.
